Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic: Oxfam Supply Centre Operations Update

The Oxfam Supply Centre is open. 

The Oxfam Supply Centre is continuing to operate with remote working for all of its desk-based staff.  A small team continues to work from the warehouse, looking after receiving, inspection, dispatching, and stock management.  We continue to handle quote requests and orders without seeing significant disruption to our services.

The Oxfam Supply Centre is well stocked with equipment and we are not experiencing any disruption with supplies. Please note the following points:

  • Equipment: Our suppliers are working in similar conditions, meaning that quotes may take longer thank usual to turn around.  We are doing our best to keep any delays to a minimum to avoid impacting our customers.
  • Transport: The situation with global air cargo has stabilised since the early days of the pandemic, and commercial air cargo capacity is available to most destinations.  However, because of the reduction in overall air cargo capacity globally, prices are higher than they were before the pandemic. Sea freight is experiencing severe delays and costs have quadrupled in some cases. We continue to work with our freight forwarding partners to secure the most competitive rates possible.

The Oxfam Supply Centre’s sole purpose is to supply high quality equipment to humanitarian programmes across the whole world and the whole charitable sector, and thus bring relief to the people who need it most. Please be assured that we are resolute in our determination to continue servicing our customers and will do whatever it takes to fulfil our mission.
