Our equipment is sourced by our team of procurement professionals in the UK through a transparent and competitive procurement process, which includes ethical checking of all suppliers. This ensures that all spending is compliant with the most stringent donor requirements.
We hold long term framework agreements with all of our major suppliers, who undergo thorough ethical vetting checks before we award the contract. These checks include an evaluation of fair labour practices, gender policies, child labour, and environmental policies. We hold ourselves to a high standard, and we require our suppliers to do the same.
Because most of our purchases are done for stock replenishment we do not know in advance which donor will end up funding the equipment in the field. For this reason all of our purchasing is done in strict accordance with Oxfam's international procurement policy, which in turn is acceptable to all major donors. We are more than happy to provide any documentation required in the event of a donor audit.
